Welcome to Writing Our Story, a digital collection of materials documenting Black student protests at Denison University. This project contains digitized special collection and archival materials to highlight the development of the Black Student Union and Black Studies Center. Writing Our Story also complements the existing special collection and archive materials by providing oral narratives from students, faculty, and staff that participated in periods of Black student empowerment protests, the Black Student Union, and the Black Studies Center at Denison University. We hope that this project will enable people to understand the historical nature of Black student protests and the variability of racial dynamics at Denison University.
