From the introduction: "It is fitting that Nan be memorialized in the Denison Women's Studies Newsletter, for during her years as Women's Coordinator she ably edited this publication. Contributions for this special edition were made by friends, colleagues, and former students. Some of the pieces were written for the Newsletter, some were written and spoken at the Memorial/Celebration event held in Nan's honor at Denison on February 14,1988, some were drawn from letters written to Nan, and some were written for other purposes but submitted later to the Newsletter. Collectively they demonstrate her influence and significance to so many of us."
